C70 Capacitor Bank Protection and Control System

C70 Capacitor Bank Protection and Control System

C70 is an integrated protection, control and monitoring device for capacitor banks based on the well-established and proven UR relay platform of GE Multilin. C70 provides both the bank and system protection schemes for shunt capacitor protection. The current and voltage-based protection functions are designed to provide sensitive protection for grounded, ungrounded single and parallel capacitor banks and banks with taps, for a variety of capacitor bank configurations. Combined with the sophisticated built-in control functions turn ON/OFF banks with relative ease and flexibility for automatic voltage regulation.

Reduce investments in lifetime costs, engineering, installation and commissioning by using a product with integrated protection, control, automation and monitoring feature for shunt capacitor bank protection in one easy to use package.

What's new in the C70:

  • Fully Compatible with GE Multlilin's HardFiber System - Provides support for GE's IEC 61850 HardFiber Process Bus Solution:
    - Complete IEC61850 Process Bus Solution providing resource optimization and minimizing total P&C lifecycle costs
  • Security Enhancements - Enabling NERC CIP compliance:
    - Dual Permission access requiring live permission from both the user and from SCADA operators before settings can be changed or commands can be given to the relay
    - Logging of user commands in the security audit trail relay - creates a record and sequence of events for troubleshooting and security auditing
  • Ambient Temperature Monitoring:
    - Provides alarms when the ambient temperature exceeds hot extreme
