The N60 Network Stability and Synchrophasor System is a flexible device intended for the development of load shedding, Remedial Action, special protection schemes and wide area monitoring (synchrophasors). Special protection schemes are unique to each installation and are carefully matched to a given system topology, operating practices, system and protection philosophies of a given utility. The N60 provides an exceptionally flexible platform to easily integrate and facilitate special protection schemes. What's New in the N60: Breakthrough on Synchrophasors allows PMU transmission through IEC 61850 GOOSE messages
and direct analog outputs
Two new concepts “GOOSE and Direct Synchrophasors” allow the Multilin N60 to concentrate synchrophasors from up to 4 different local devices using IEC 61850 GOOSE and retransmit them to remote substations through direct I/O using existing communications channels (64/128kbps). - “GOOSE Synchrophasor” uses IEC 61850 GOOSE as the transmission protocol for sending PMU data within the substation - “Direct Synchrophasor” uses inter-relay communication modules (direct I/O) and existing low-bandwidth communication channels to transmit synchrophasor data to and from remote substations. (firmware version 5.70) Fully Compatible with GE's Multlilin HardFiber System - Provides support for GE's IEC 61850
HardFiber Process Bus Solution:
- Complete IEC61850 Process Bus Solution providing resource optimization and minimizing total P&C lifecycle costs Security Enhancements - Enabling NERC CIP compliance:
- Dual Permission access requiring live permission from both the user and from SCADA operators before settings can be changed or commands can be given to the relay - Logging of user commands in the security audit trail relay - creates a record and sequence of events for troubleshooting and security auditing Ambient Temperature Monitoring:
Features and Benefits - Provides alarms when the ambient temperature exceeds hot extreme
