Lentronics Multiplexers’ video network units enable the implementation of a flexible and scaleable video management system on a Lentronics Multiplexer network.

Utilizing dedicated bandwidth, one or more video WANs can be created on either JungleMUX SONET, TN1U SDH or TN1Ue SDH networks. Video WAN bandwidth assignment alternatives include a fixed 48 Mb/s option and a configurable option with a range from 1.5 Mb/s to 10.5 Mb/s.

The units integrate digital codec functions for NTSC or PAL analog video signals, provide high speed connection switching, as well as real time video distribution – including ancillary data and audio channels. When used in a ring topology network, primary and alternate fiber paths offer protected transport of video services between multiplexer nodes.

Typical video applications include highway incident management and traffic intersection monitoring, electric utility substation surveillance, rail transit and pipeline security.

Both the MPEG-4 standard and proprietary wavelet digital compression options are available, providing solutions that empower a broad range of solutions.

Cameleon Enterprise video network management package is an optional Windows based PC software tool, and is available to manage video services over a Lentronics Multiplexer network.
