Lentronics Multiplexers are unique in that they provide an integrated access
and transport package encompassed in one, compact, common equipment node.
The node is equipped with redundant power supplies, redundant optical transmission
units, integrated Ethernet bridging units, and a service unit for interfacing
with VistaNET Network Management System (NMS).
A wide variety of application interface
units are provided based on client need, and expansion shelves can be added
when required.
Operations,
Administration, Maintenance and Provisioning (OAM&P)
Lentronics Multiplexers take advantage
of the inherent network management capabilities provided by the SONET and
SDH telecommunications standards. The OAM&P system, VistaNET Network
Management System (NMS), provides network visibility down to the individual
circuit level at every node, remote provisioning and monitoring of the network
from any node, as well as alarm logging. The built in test capabilities
of Lentronics Multiplexers can save the user the cost of purchasing expensive
SONET or SDH test equipment.
Beyond SONET
and SDH Standards
Synchronous integration of individual circuits, minimizes
re-synchronization outages
Efficient use of VTs (SONET VT 1.5 share) and VCs (SDH
VC12 groomer) through multi-use
termination
Fast path protection switching (< 3 ms) minimizes
potential traffic interruption
Harsh environment tolerant (excessive SWC and RFI)
Extended ambient temperature operation
