DNP I/O Modules


Course Description
This course includes instruction on the DNP I/O Modules available from GE Energy. After the training the student will have developed the basic knowledge required to set up DNP I/O Modules to report data back to a DNP client.

Topics covered in the training include the different I/O modules available, and the options associated with each module. An introduction to the hardware, and jumper configurable options is also covered. Device connection, and the cables required cables to connect the DNP I/O modules will also be covered during the training.

If the DNP IO Module course is taken in conjunction with a D20/D200, D25, D400 or iBox course, the students will use concepts from both courses to establish communications between the DNP I/O Modules and the appropriate client.

Key Course Objectives

Identify controls and indications and configure hardware options such as jumpers and serial input connections.

Locate and replace field replaceable components such as fuses.

Review the DNP Profile of the DNP I/O modules.

Describe the communication configuration options available such as addressing and baud rate.

Establish communication between the DNP I/O module and a DNP client like the iBox or D400.

An understanding of RTU and SCADA concepts.

A working knowledge of PCs and Windows.
